Entry from: Yumani, Bolivia Entry Title: "Lago Titicaca" Entry: "Despite repeated unsuccessful attempts to actually leave La Paz, Lindsay and I eventually made it to the lake town of Copacabana. Following a ferry ride to Copacabana, the bus drove us through what seemed to be strictly lake communities. For the next thirty minutes or so, there were many women and children on the side of the road begging for money, just holding out a cupped hand as the bus drove by. It was odd for a few reasons, the first being that I had never seen anyone beg to an automobile that was driving past at over 40 mph Secondly, the children were sitting on the side of the road with the sole purpose of begging towards the bus. And ultimately, some of the children were incredibly young, maybe three years old. I would be surprised if they could even walk or talk very well, but they knew how to beg and who they should ask for money. It is from Copacabana that ferries leave for Isla del Sol, a small island on Lake Titicaca (please, no juvenile jokes). Upon docking, a village boy named Rodrigo took us up to the hospedaje that he was working for. It is a typical job.
